POSILLIPO - Parthership Observation System for the Implementation of Lifelong Learning Initiatives and Policies

What is the role of Partnerships in Lifelong Learning?

This is the main question the POSILLIPO project intends to address.

Partnership is probably the most profound area of change in education and training. On the one hand, In today's fast-changing society, older and unskilled individuals are in the greatest need of additional training, but are least likely to get it. And on the other, as governments cut back on direct state provision, Lifelong Learning partnerships are emerging all over, involving a wide range of stakeholders, from employers, trade unions and non-governmental organisations, to voluntary bodies, not-for-profit organisations, community groups and education institutions. These partnerships develop different roles, using many approaches and work at different levels. The creation of such partnerships is proving to be quite successful, but the sustainability of such initiatives is not being such an easy task.

In this framework, POSILLIPO: Partnership Observation System for the Implementation of Lifelong Learning Initiatives and POlicies aims to better understand the shaping, sustaining, developing and evolving lifelong learning partnerships and the role of stakeholders in defining, designing, implementing and evaluating policies and initiatives in the field of LLL.
